REVIEW – Tarte’s limited edition ‘don’t quit your day dream’ eyeshadow palette

This is a really exciting review for me as it’s the first time that I’ve ever tried Tarte Cosmetics! I feel like Tarte is a very fashionable brand as just about every beauty youtuber I follow uses them. It can be a bit pricy to get their products to Scotland as it is highly likely you need to pay customs and taxes even though you can get free shipping over a certain about. However you can get some Tarte products on QVC where it’s not also got easier, cheaper shipping but there are unique deals to QVC that will help you get the most for your money.

thumbnail_FullSizeRenderThe first thing that stuck out for me when buying this palette was the cute packaging, I love the ‘don’t quit your day dream’ quote on the front with the bright pink colour surrounding the rest of the palette. The outer cover of the palette is very firm and I feel like it would be very long wearing and hold up well while being thrown about the bottom of my bag. One of the main aspects of this product that drew me to buying was how ideal it would be for travelling as it’s compact, hard-wearing and it has a mirror inside it which will make it perfect for make-up on the go!

When I first opened the palette the colour that stood out the most for me was ‘strive’ which is a golden peach colour which reminded me a lot of ‘bellini’ from the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette. The colour that would be a close second is the shade ‘loveee’ which is a light nude, caramel type colour that I’m so in love with to use as a crease colour. I was a wee bit doubtful for the highlighter shade ‘shine on’ as I do like to be glowing but this surprised me as being a very beautiful highlighter. The palette is a lovely collection of nudes, bronzy and peachy toned shades that are right up my alley as I’m obsessed with my Sweet Peach palette, I feel like this would be a better pick to take when I’m travelling abroad as I feel like it has all the shades to create a good amount of looks. thumbnail_FullSizeRender-1I’ve tried these shadows for the past couple of days and I absolutely love the formulation of them. They are a little of the powdery side and have a small amount of kick up but I really don’t mind that as I find that if the shadow is a wee bit powdery then it help with the blend. I have really oily eyelids and I feel like these shadows last longer on my eyes, it might be something to do with the Amazonian clay that they’re made with. Below are swatches that I took with just one swipe of the shade. Shine on at the top, rock on, visionary, loveee, boss lady, strive, runway and werk. From these swatches it can be said they are all well pigmented but that of boss lady, the bronze shade, is the one of the most pigmented. I feel like runway is such a beautiful colour as well, it’s a lovely warm chestnut colour. For £25 it can be a wee bit pricey however the performance is so worth it, such a good all round palette but my only criticism is that I wish there was more peachy shades but that’s just me being picky.

I’m so glad that I’ve finally tried Tarte and I can understand the hype that surrounds their makeup, such high quality products that have good ‘healthy’ ingredients in them. I hope this is helpful to those who are wanting to buy from Tarte but never knew if they were worth the money!

Love,
